Acquaintance Party Reflection Paper
Acquaintance Party Reflection Paper
I. Details of the event/activity
On September 9, 2023, the college of computer studies hosted an acquaintance party of the CCS students of Gordon College. The party included students from BSEMC, BSIT, BSCS and ACT. The event was held at Marikit Park that started at 7 am til 10 pm in the evening after the conclusion of the Gordon College CCS Pageant.
II. Reflections on the webinar/activity give rise to (learnings)
The conclusion of the event with the Gordon College CCS Pageant added an extra layer of excitement and showcased the diverse talents within the College of Computer Studies. Beyond the entertainment value, this segment provided a platform for students to appreciate and celebrate the achievements and abilities of their peers. In essence, the acquaintance party not only served as a social event but also as a platform for learning outside the traditional academic setting. It emphasized the importance of fostering a sense of community among students from different programs and highlighted the value of creating spaces for informal interactions and celebration within the academic community.
III. Reflections on possibilities on implementing some of the webinar input on a practical level (practical application of learning)
Thinking about putting those webinar ideas into action, right? First off, gotta figure if they actually fit into my study scene and what I'm aiming for. Like, making sure these ideas are more than just theory – they need to work in real student life. Then comes the game plan – gotta smoothly blend those webinar tricks into how I usually tackle my studies or maybe try out some fresh approaches. It's like crafting a study vibe that's uniquely mine.
Oh, and let's not forget keeping it chill and collaborative. Staying open to suggestions, chatting about it with classmates, and being cool with feedback keeps things flexible and helps me tweak my study game as I go. Lastly, gotta check if these changes are doing the trick. Are they making my study life better or do I need to adjust a bit? It's all about finding what clicks and keeping things fresh in my student journey. Easy peasy!
IV. Positive feedback (on the event organization)
The event was good and productive, it had very good MC's (I was a fan) and good entertainment
V. Suggestions for improvements to be made/consider for future activities
Some of the other booths could have accommodated better and make newer students feel more welcome within the community. I found that even if the college do want to make it an open space for everyone. A persons introvertednes is often times dug into their personality and it makes them more of a loner. Maybe in the future we can be more inclusive and change that.
